No post required for the FX loop; not sure if it even works......since I never built it. But welcome to the forum!

Thank you.

Having done some more research on this I have drawn the following conclusions:

1. Modifying will immediately lessen the market value of my amp (JCM800 2204 Master Model 50W Mk2. Lead). Not that I want to sell it...yet!

2. It would be nice to put delay/chorus/reverb etc. in an effects loop, but for most situations in my musical world, it's not really important enough...I'd just use all the effects into the front for gigs, and for recording they'd all be added afterwards.

3. Instead of hacking my beautiful Marshall, I'd prefer to buy another head with a factory-installed effects loop and use an ABY box. Although I'll have to get another cab...and a bigger car as well...and a roady...errrr.....

I love doing electronics, but I've decided I'm going to steer clear of this mod and get a higher-paid job!

Thanks for the information though, I'll be keeping an eye on this site ;-)

Rob

Or... Sell your Marshall and buy all the parts to build one, with an FX loop. xbeer

100% agree with you on that! I have a 2205 that is not working and I still cant come to grips with doing harm to it! I keep it in tack to make reference to it as I did the 2205 ptp layout.......

Why not try and build the 2205, it has a passive loop, two channel, and reverb. I just ordered the Transformers for my build and I am going to be building a chassis soon, but I will use the head box from my STOCK 2205 "reference" amp.

Few days ago I did the loop on my 4104 jcm amp.
After some troubles wif squealing due to bad lead dress now works fine.

I did the Kurt's amp diagram but put the loop not after the master volume but after the treble pot, to me is better.

Hi,
I'm new here.. I've try Kurt's Loop schema on my 2204 clone, but lot of hum, espesially if the return level going up. I've try place the circuit after treble pot and master pot. But the same result. The effect tone is nice but I can't use it with a huge hum. Now I'm remove the loop circuit and just breaking connection between master and PI input for FX loop, and normal noise. But never try for loud volume, in low volume is not problem.
How about your result?

thx
